Saloon front windows Bug Screens

Helia 44 Owners,

We wanted to add some bug screens to the Saloon front windows.

We made these 2 bug screens from standard screen parts sold at Home Depot.

Just added D shaped black 1/4" inch rubber all the way around to hold them in place.

They fit like a clove.

Window Opening is 12-1/8” wide X 17.5 tall
Screen Frame only 11-3/4” wide X 17-1/4” tall
Screen Frame with 1/4" D shaped rubber 12-1/4” wide X 17-3/4” tall

Used .140" spline
Used Bronze color 5/16" x 1" Aluminum Screen Frame

Cost $15 for both of them.

Cockpit Sliding Door Key

For those of you looking to get and extra boat key.

They are called Mobella Star keys.

You can find the key code inside the sliding door, engraved in the black part of the handle starting with a # 2.

The Keycode will look like this
S53 - South Grip , 53mm long.
229 - key combination 229

Check this out they come in different sizes, but this one seems to work great.you can put over your open hatch run it up front a bit , it has loops you can attach to your lifelines and it gives a nice breeze

Hatches, Windows and Ventilation

Thanks for this post on flyscreens Cotemar. It inspired me to do the same on our Lucia 40. I measured up, bought parts from Bunnings here on the Sunshine Coast, but also elsewhere in Australia. I used the finest mesh possible, also known as midgie mesh, and cost was of the order of $1-200 for 6 screens - 2 in the saloon, 3 in the side windows of the cabins of our Owners version. The 6 th was for the sliding opening window next to the sliding door to the cockpit. It fits neatly into the track and enables the door to be closed with the screen in place. When not in use it fits neatly out of the way between the sliding door and the fridge cabinet.

Omg, Mark; by the time we are ready for ours, you'll have everything solved! I'm just going to make a pamphlet with all your posts, and we're set!

Thanks!

Re: Cockpit Sliding Door Key

I must have a different sliding door...hull#6...I have dis-assembled the entire lock and handle and can find no key code...did the earlier doors have a generic key? Was it a Mobella key....any help would be extremely helpful
