Waypoints/Marks

I am trying out OpenCPn for the first time. If you have ENC charts installed, is there a way to search for things like navigational marks by name or to select them on the map and use them as waypoints for a route, or do you have to drop a mark on them and then name the mark? Thanks

Use your own marks so you don't run the bouy down if you actually Are brave / innocent enough to use it for the autopilot. The search feature has been requested for enc charts. Add your vote to the Tracker see opebcpn.org menu bar. Register and look for it in the opencpn features drop down. Thanks

No, you can't use the map objects as waypoints and there is no search function for them.
