Using mouse to zoom in OSX

I experience a problem with using the mouse to control the zoom. It is very sensitive and hard to control. The scale jumps appear very large. I have looked but cannot find a pref or other setting.

Re: Using mouse to zoom in OSX

In preferences, under Display, check "Smooth Pan/Zooming". It helps make zooming and panning much more controllable.

Thanks for your reply. I had tried that and am now guessing that it is partly to do with the scales of raster charts.

"Preserve scale when switching charts" checkbox on the same tab?

Re: Using mouse to zoom in OSX

Wrote it up in FAQ, added a few things.

https://opencpn.org/wiki/dokuwiki/do...ard_to_control

Check out the item below this FAQ

Charts jump while Using Follow Ship Offset, Look Ahead & North up Modes
=--Probably not the problem though.

Re: Using mouse to zoom in OSX

Thanks again for all the help. It is still difficult to control with the Apple Wireless Mouse - but less so with a wheel mouse. Makes it very difficult at the chart table in a lop. I guess time and attention will sort this out.
