Download this sucker and place it over the top of your current Program Files\OpenCPN\opencpn.exe

Should be stable, though it is a "work in process" snapshot.
It tries to be excruciatingly explicit in the setup of COM ports. You should be able to connect to a BT port, and open the GPS/NMEA Data Stream Window, and see output. Also, lots of debug if enabled as above.

Let me know....

the log...
opencpn.doc
to repeat, usb Blue soleil dongle on XPsp2 on T42 receiving a standalone gps fix from a java cell phone using EXTgps.I'll try it on a different computer but all the above is the same and unless there's a difference in operation,I guess I needn't bother posting another log etc...?

HappySeagull....

Yahoo!
Thanks for the test. No more logs needed.
We can expect this fix to be officially in the next Beta.

Thanks again

Family....

Dunno, maybe it doesn't matter. Do you have any luck with COM9?

Re: Using Blue NMEA for Android via bluetooth

Hello again,

I reported earlier that I got Blue NMEA to work with OpenCPN on my Macbook . . . but I came back and reconnected the phone and now although the NWEA stream is visible in OCPN's window, the Autotrack function shows no GPS signal being received? Contradicting each other.

Any help? Please?

Family Cruiser?no joy,with Dave's whiz-bang hacked version?...
Main question is-can you still get your setup to work in Seaclear (as you mentioned it did work in)or some other GPS app?

PS I don't know about the BU253 but there are posts about it on this forum.Do a search...I've had 3 usb gps 2x Pharos (included with MS street+trips)and one Holux. They are excellent.and Easy. They work in OPCN and everything else.I paid less than 30$ new for each. They weren't waterproof but they ran fine inside a fg boat! The only reason I don't still have all of them,is my friends needed one and I'm a better shopper. They are all still working.

It has been working just fine for me for six months, running OpenCPN 2.5.0 on Windows Vista and Windows 7.

Re: Using Blue NMEA for Android via bluetooth

So update, the BU353 works a treat and it frees my phone up to be the "other" gps.
Now to get my ST1000 anyone suggest a usb to serial two wire adapter??????
