Update All option on Desktop, not on Laptop

I get the option to "Update All" on my desktop but not on my laptop. Both have 4.8.0 installed and both have Win 10 to the latest level. I must be doing something wrong.

Both also have Downloader 1.2 installed. I just updated both chart databases this morning.

Bob,

The "Update All" button is optional. You can enable this button using the toolbar to select Options > Plugins. Then click on "Chart Downloader" (you might have to scroll down). Click on "Preferences" where the last option is "Allow bulk update of all configured chart sources and charts". A checkmark in front of this enables the "Update All" button on the "Chart Downloader" dialog.

Well, that solves that. I wonder why it was made optional? The user would always have the option of clicking on it or not if the button was always present.

In the early days it was felt most people would not want "update all" because of the long download times. And most of us are only navigating within the region of a handful of charts.

Perhaps I misunderstand the "Update All" option. I only loaded charts of my cruising grounds so update all, if I understand it correctly, only updates the chart groups listed in the Chart Downloader tab.

Besides, I still have the option of updating individual folders.
