TCP Connection to Aishub - OpenCPN too slow

Hi all, good day!

I am a contributor to Aishub.net and therefore I've been granted access to their feed via TCP.

Thing is I've set up OpenCPN connection on TCP with indicated host and port and I am starting to receive data and see vessels but the program starts running terribly slow (almost tilting).

Any reason for that? Maybe too much data coming in? Any suggestion?

It is strange because I am also a user of SeaIQ and i dont experience this problem on that program and same feeding source.

Thanks in advance!

We are contributors to AisHub as well and did experiment with the TCP feed in the past. No performance issues noted.

Thank you for the input. Then I have no clue what is going on, but whenever i configure it and I see sentences coming in the NMEA Debug Window the OpenCPN starts freezing, it is impossible to use.

Does the attached setup look fine to you?

Thank you!

Re: TCP Connection to Aishub - OpenCPN too slow

they won't be so much improvements, but you are wondering to get only the AIS data of the area, so, why no to filter in the entrance only accept VDM sentences?
you don't need any more than that.
and also set priority as 2 or 3, I suppose that won't be your main data supply for your navigation system.
