Ship data recorder for OpenCPN

Hello everyone, I'm new here.
I want to ask if anyone knows how to create a plugin in OpenCPN for my college project. I want to make a plugin that can record ship data captured by RTL-SDR into a database, I already have the coding but I don't know how to install it into OpenCPN. I am using raspberry pi. Please help me...
