Pilot Charts do not display any more...

.kap files used to display but not any more on my Fedora 19 laptop. Recompiled OpenCPN against Fedora 19 and makes no difference.

Checked permissions. Cannot be more liberal...

No problem displaying Cmap

.kap files display fine on my Xoom tablet's chroot Debian Wheezy, OpenCPN install.

Re: Pilot Charts do not display any more...

Expanding on my post a bit. NO .kap files display. No problem before upgrade from Fedora 18 to 19.

This is probably not an issue having to do with OpenCPN. Most likely Fedora. What would cause this? Anyone have any idea?

Thanks for your response Thomas.

I resolved the issue by renaming opencpn.conf to opencpn.conf.bak, restarted OpenCPN and reset chart directories.

Setting "charts" alone does not do the trick. It was necessary to add other chart directories within 'charts' one by one.

Wrong...

That's interesting.
OCPN should be able to drill down into a directory to the file level to find the charts, thru several levels if necessary.

Can you describe your chart directory structure a little more?

Thanks
Dave

Wrong

Looking at your opencpn.conf.bak, what do you find under the heading
"[ChartDirectories]"?. That's where the active chart directories are described.

Re: Pilot Charts do not display any more...

Thomas,

In the opencpn.conf.bak file OpenCPN was using the default location - /usr/share/opencpn/charts which I have never declared in the add charts module.

Plus, there is no ../charts directory in /usr/share/opencpn.

The add charts module indicated OpenCPN was looking where I wanted, but the only thing recognized was CM93 in /home/username/charts... None of the other directories listed in my last post were picked up.

I wonder how many users actually put their charts in /usr/share/opencpn/charts?
