Re: OTCurrent Plugin

Thanks for the comments. I am going to wait for the plugin to be tested for a while. Please use Flyspray for suggestions/problems.

Re: OTCurrent Plugin

After a very nice Brittany cruise, using French V8 Harmonics (!!!) , I decided to update the otcurrent plugin to allow users to choose which harmonics files they want to use.

The default folder on first running the plugin will be the installed tcdata folder. After changing the folder the plugin will remember the new folder for the next start-up.

Source code for otcurrent 1.1 is here:
https://github.com/Rasbats/otcurrent_pi

Would appreciate some help with updating the SourceForge packages.

The compiled Windows version (compatible with O3.2.2 upwards) is attached. Please remove the .pdf extension and place in the plugins folder.

If testing is satisfactory I would appreciate a mention of the update on 'Hisse et Oh'.

Other changes:
#1 Calendar retains the new date chosen
#2 Interval time is memorised
#3 Redundant code from the template has been removed
#4 'Help' has some text added but still needs improving

TODO: Review FlySpray items.
AND some help will be needed with translations.
AND the graph is still on my list of things to do!

Please test to destruction.

Re: OTCurrent Plugin

Mike, built the new version. The calendar works. It would be very helpful if the wxFormBuilder could be improved so that the popup calendar can be shown in full or pulled out.

Also we need the full date to show, somehow that field is not being given enough space.

See attached.
Thank you, its looking pretty good now, really.

Re: OTCurrent Plugin

Mike,
I am guessing there is no OTCurrents.fbp file in the main directory on my end, ...possibly. Do you have one of those?

I only say that because weather_routing and celestial_navigation_pi have those, even though they need some adjustments to format still. I have tried using wxFormBuilder with those plugins, to fix the format, and Jon Gough had some suggestions, but those plugins are pretty nested up.

Maybe you don't use the wxForm tools but use something simpler?

PS: Your screen looks great!

Re: OTCurrent Plugin

Sorry Rick, no wxFormBuilder file available for otcurrent.

Playing with V10 Harmonics (merak) on Windows I noticed the plugin dialog disappearing behind the OpenCPN window when the chart was used.

Also the scale at which the arrows appeared did not allow a wide enough view eg crossing the English Channel.

Arrows will now appear at scale 1000000 and the plugin window problem has been resolved.

A Windows compiled version is available in a new 'Extras' folder on GitHub.

https://github.com/Rasbats/otcurrent_pi

Apologies for the extra work caused by these changes.

Re: OTCurrent Plugin

Mike...
Could you please instead of pushing the binaries into your repository tag the releases and upload the installers there (https://github.com/Rasbats/otcurrent_pi/releases)? It is a complete waste of bandwidth for anybody who just needs the source...

Re: OTCurrent Plugin

Hi guys,

I'm running Ocpn 4.2 on a 32Bit Win XP machine.
I can get the arrows visible, but do not get a calendar window and the arrows are only outlined.
OpenGL on or off makes no difference.

The plugin is version 1.1, at least that's what it says in the plugin window.
As I downloaded it from Rasbats github it seems to be actually v1.2 bd43671.

Any ideas regarding outlines only and info windows?

Thanks,

Franziska

Checkmarks or not seems to make no difference...

Re: OTCurrent Plugin

Franziska, thanks for the post & pic. Very helpful. You appear to just be in Options setting - plugins menu where you enabled the plugin.
Now accept and go back to the main menu. Then find the otcurrent plugin icon in the toolbar. Hit that and show us what you see with the calendar up. Perhaps it will help with my format problem.

Re: OTCurrent Plugin

It works.Had to switch to the OT plugin button.
Than had the calendar open.Still only outlined arrows.Left it open and went back into OT plugin settings. Switched arrow fill off and then on again.
Now it works!
Seems to be the sequence.

Great job guys! many thanks!!
