Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1223

Dave,

Please remind me where the config file is. I can't find it. I thought that its location was listed on the help window along with the log file but it's not there.

Chris...
Dave's gone fishing and I've never touched a Mac, but looking into the code it should be opencpn.ini in ~/Library/Preferences (~ means the user's home directory)

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1223

OK Changing the Frame locations got me the normal title bar . Main OpenCPN menu is French . Other than that all seems normal. One issue is that the the settings tab for GPS never remember the GPS input, or at least it never remember if it is set to AIS shared so it has to be manually set every start up.

Little Chay,

Are you very sure that you have got the latest mac beta? The French thing was cured for me with 2.6.1223

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1223

OK, well, what worked for me was to delete the following files before launching the new beta 1223:

/Macintosh HD/Users/Nick/Library/Preferences/opencpn.ini
/Macintosh HD/Users/Nick/Library/Preferences/opencpn/ (folder)
/Macintosh HD/Users/Nick/Library/Preferences/navobj.xml (plus any other copies)

Note that if you do this you will lose the changes that you made to the Frame position in opencpn.ini, and you'll have to make them again after launching and then closing OpenCPN.

I'm on Leopard 10.5.8.

Hope this helps.

Yes that got thanks..deleting the old preferences files seems to have things looking pretty normal. I'll play around for a few days and see how it goes.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1223

I tried to find the reef where the freighter Rena crashed about 10 miles off Tauranga/Newzeeland.

could be here: Feature Class: UWTROC

Position: 037 34.9403 S 176 21.5123 E

try to find this in cm93. it's quite hard to find !!!! and often invisible depending on your depht settings.

I don't know if this is really Rena's position but anyway it looks dangerous and is not really visible as underwater rock.

comparable fault I found already in 2009 and stated here,

Feature Class: WRECKS

Position: 057 21.4153 N 017 09.1334 E
