Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1223

Hello Dave,

I need to understand a part of the operation of OpenCPN.

First:
See the attached screenshots of the tab "Settings" tab and "Etc ..." the "Toolbox".

second:
Then I use some "kap" chart.

I display a chart and with the "-" button to the toolbar, I zoom level. I set the screen in order to have a scale of 1 / 7100 with a zoom of 0.48.

Then I change the chart displayed by clicking on the screen. A new area is displayed. The scale is retained. But the zoom level changes. He goes to 1.9.

This is not specific to the version 2.6-1223. It's the same with version 2.5.0.

Why change the zoom level does it?

Best regards

Gilletarom.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1223

When I toggle between use openGL on and off, the light description on the cm93 chart get distorted . I run W7 prof.
with openGL.doc

without openGL.doc

Everything else are the same, just with and without open GL.

Sorry for the attachments I thought they would show up as thumbnails (little more to learn).

janp....

See
FS#664 : Opengl do not display texts corectly with CM93 charts

and
http://opencpn.org/ocpn/flyspray/ind...edit&sort=desc

Basic problem is that we did not implement Text DeClutter algorithm in 2.6.1223.
This algorithm prevents overprinting of light characteristics for lights which are co-located. This seems to be quite common in cm93, especially in Europe.

I have done this now, and will be available in the next Beta release.

Thanks
Dave

OpenGL, we observe that the description of the buoys in image of Janp391 is shifted to the right.

Is it just me???
ENC text is really blurry in OpenGL, while sharp as a knife when OpenGL is deactivated...
Also, smooth zoom/panning, can't see any diff with or without.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1223

I've attached an updated danish translation (2.6.1223). Some english terms left untranslated, e.g. a number of shiptypes returned by AIS-module).

Thanks for all the work to everybody, by the way. It's incredible. Period.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1223

On my Mac running up-to-date Snow Leopard the OpenCPN menu is in, I think, French and the GRIB plugin comes up in random languages - but that happens on all versions anyway. No isobars on the GRIBS. Otherwise seems OK.

There are no minimise, maximise buttons either; is that intentional?

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1223

LittleChay....

Is the menu in French on 2.6.1223?
It was in French on 2.5.0, but I thought was fixed in the latest Beta.
At least on my hardware it was.

I'm not really a Mac guy. Just faking it.
By Minimize/maximize buttons, do you mean the red/green/yellow buttons in upper left of application window?

2.6.1223 was built on a Leopard Hackintosh. Best I can do, I'm afraid....
Still looking for a real Mac developer to get these little UI issues ironed out on a real Mac....

Thanks
Dave

LittleChay....

So, the top "grabber" or title bar is missing for you. Have you ever seen it?
Or, is this an artifact from the screen-grab utility?

I've never seen it; on this or previous versions.

Re: OpenCPN Version 2.6 Beta Build 1223

LittleChay/ChannelIslander...
Lets try this as an experiment.

Edit your config file, and change the following keys

Code:
FrameWinX=500
FrameWinY=400
FrameMax=0
FrameWinPosX=200
FrameWinPosY=200
This should allow you to get the OCPN frame totally onscreen, from which point you may move/adjust as you desire. Should see the title bar, too.

Let me know how this works.

Thanks
Dave
