fabbian....

Thanks for the feedback. I usually look for recent comments before I "close" the Flyspray task, so I will see your latest, and keep it open as long as it is valid.

OpenCPN Version 2.2 Beta Build 1026

Hi there....

OpenCPN Version 2.2 Beta Build 1026 is now available.

Changelog
134. Correct multiple native language entries in language selector combo box.
135. Correct NMEA checksum calculation errors.
136. Correct/Update Dashboard PlugIn (FS#189).

Release Beta 1026

Please check/edit/close your Flyspray tasks as you test your "own" problems. I'd like to get the Flyspray tasklist beaten down a bit.

Good Luck
Dave

Dave.

Installed ver. 1026 and so far found following faults:

1. Discrepancy in lon/lat in AIS query box and OpenCPN cursor pos reading.
2. Not possible to alter font details for AIS or dashboard boxes.

Hi wimvdh

Not so with my system on Vista with ver 1026. Only the Ais Rollover option works. The AIS Target query does NOT respond.

The attached screendump shows the lon/lat discrepancy between the AIS target box and the OpenCPN pos display at the bottom.

cursor position

Hi Tore,

I think that the AIS position as given in the AIS target box is the position as received from the AIS on board and displayed as such on the map. On the bottom of the display is the position of the cursor (mouse). Even with an AIS box open, you can move the cursor and you will see the position of it on the bottom. Standing with your pointer IN the box however, the cursor position on the bottom is the last known from your movement outside the box and NOT the position of the AIS target!

Language discrepancy

Hi Dave,

I have a minor problem between the English and Dutch (Netherlands) version with AIS targets. When right clicking an AIS target, in English you get a table with on top 'AIS Target Query' and on bottom 'AIS target list'. In Dutch I get 'AIS objectgegevens', both on top and on bottom. The behavior of the top field and the bottom field is equal to the English version, but using the same field name is a little confusing. May be a question of field translation and using a different name for the bottom filed name. I suggest: 'AIS objectlijst'. The same applies to the result of the action. Both times you will see the same name on top of the window. See attached pictures.

Hi all developers.
My heading information is back with version 1026. Also the dashboard is now working as I expected it to do. My only wish so far is a permanent all the way heading line from ship, when heading information is present, even if ship is not making speed over ground.

Thanks Dave

That is what I did:

Quote:
jean-marie@M100:~/Téléchargements$ sudo dpkg -i opencpn_2.2.1025-1_i386.deb
[sudo] password for jean-marie:
(Lecture de la base de données... 124054 fichiers et répertoires déjà installés.)

dpkg-deb: sous-processus coller tué par le signal (Relais brisé (pipe))
Des erreurs ont été rencontrées pendant l'exécution :

If I manually create the directories,
Quote:
sudo mkdir /usr/local/share/opencpn
sudo mkdir /usr/local/share/opencpn/wvsdata
it will go one step further.

This is with a fresh install of Ubuntu 10.10 with latest updates.

If it is only me, then forget it, I can workaround.

Thanks.

Wim..

Re # 233/234 The differences in lat/lon you see is based on my cursor pointing to the aft portion of the target when the screen shot was recorded. In previous versions there was only a difference of 2-3 digits when pointing the cursor near the aft portion of the ship and sometimes a fraction to port or starboard.

Hi Tore, Dave

I see! The question is how the triangle symbol is positioned around the real position of the ship.
Is it may be a good idea to additionally display a dot in the symbol to give the real position? Not a big one as on anchored ships, but a small simple dot!

Congratulations to your windows installer, looks real great.

Is it now correct to say that the logfile and .ini files are in .."Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\opencpn" on all win installations??
Any difference between XP, Vista or Win7 ?
What about win98 and win2000?
Obviously the documentation needs updating.

The installers uninstall feature did not remove the old %APDATA%\opencpn directory and content, and not the menu entry for the uninstalled version(918 in this case) from Start ->All Programs->OpenCPN

No, you can't say that it is in a certain path. It could differ between Windows version but also from system to system as this value is user definable.
The location is the "Programdata folder for all users\opencpn".

Win 98 is no longer supported - sorry.
AFAIK W2K should be the same like XP.

Yes indeed ...

Correct! This should be done by the installer if you have a previous version installed and uninstall it at installation time of the new one (sounds complicated, but it isn't ...).
The uninstaller really only uninstalls its own version - nothing else.

Maybe for the same reason as above.
You can uninstall any old version only from the installer - not the uninstaller.
Previous versions of 2.2.x had some problems and do not always work 100% reliable.

Thanks,
Gunther
