OpenCPN - AIS Radar Plugin Range issues

I have been evaluating the AIS Radar Plug within OpenCPN.

The range does not appear to be working properly within the plugin itself.

I dropped a mark and added a range ring at 0.25 NM. At the same time I set the range in the AIS Radar plugin to 0.25NM. The result is not consistent with what should be there.

Maybe I have a setting wrong any suggestions?

I am pretty sure this is a bug but I am loathed to file a bug report if it is just a setting that I have missed or got wrong.


Is the AIS Radar plugin part of the main system or a separate item there doesn't seem to be a specific "project" in Tracker?

Tried to report this as a bug in Tracker/Flyspray but receiving.....


Very strange header when accessing T/F.
When logged in says - I do not have permission to start a new task.


What am I doing wrong.

As you have discovered, Flyspray needs an update. It's on the list.


Meanwhile, I'm not sure I understand the bug.
Will you try to describe again?

With regards to what I believe is a bug.




If you look at the screenshot the range ring on the main display (not quite centred on my vessel) and the AIS plugin have been set to 0.25 Nm.

The target ringed on the main display should be roughly where the X is on the AIS Radar display.



In this screenshot the AIS predictor line is approximately 0.5Nm in length. On the main display the target is 0.25Nm to the East of my vessel. On the AIS Radar display (range set to 0.5Nm) the target is on top of my vessel with the predictor line only showing on the West side, the target itself should be to the East of the centre of the display approximately half way to the edge of the display.

For reference I am using AIS - Version 1.3 and O - Version 5-8-2.0
