O-portable Documentation - check please

In testing installation of O-portable using the documentation here.

It worked well for Windows.
However I have two questions.

16 wxWidgets instead of 8?
  • I found 16 wxWidgets files in the main directory, rather than the 8 mentioned.
  • I copied all 16 wxWidgets over to the USB key.
  • Are 16 wxWidgets expected with version 4.1.1301? -I tried deleting one and Portable O loaded ok.
  • Should I make a note to copy all 16 wx over for v4.1.x?
C:\Users\..\GitHub\OpenCPN\build\_CPack_Packages\w in32\NSIS\opencpn_4.1.1301_setup
  • I also found zlib1.dll
  • O portable works without it, but shouldn't it be copied over too?
When this is confirmed I will make notes accordingly in the O-Portable documentation.

Have other users looked at and tested the O-portable documentation for Linux and Mac? Please advise.

Re: O-portable Documentation - check please

Additionally, I find the following files in
C:\Users\..\GitHub\OpenCPN\build\_CPack_Packages\w in32\NSIS\opencpn_4.1.1301_setup
  • msvcp120.dll <--better than msvcp100.dll
  • msvcr120.dll <--better than msvcr100.dll
  • libcurl.dll <--needed for chartdownloader?
Shouldn't these files also be copied over for v4.1.x?

Thanks.

Re: O-portable Documentation - check please

Just added a line for OpenCPN version 4.1.x & 4.2
and said it was best to copy these additional files over.

Where did you add the line? I did not see it in the documentation page. Maybe I'm looking at an out-of-date page?

I tried to make a portable install of v4.4, but it's not working:

Oops, just found it at the bottom. I hadn't scrolled down far enough.
