I am trying to get a
current Openplotter2 running on a Raspberry4 8GB
with MCS and the Moitessier Hat 2.
I have also described this problem in the Openplotter forum, maybe someone here has an idea.
The system is configured and starts. All data including
GPS is there / will be delivered.
After some time (sometimes longer, sometimes shorter)
OpenCPN loses the
GPS signal, the GPS LED of the moitessier keeps blinking,
which means the GPS signal is there.
I exchanged the GPS
antenna to exclude a defect.
openplotter-avnav then also loses the GPS signal...
If I don't start
opencpn and only start openplotter-avnav, the system stays connected to GPS for hours ?!
OpenCPN also loses GPS signal if you do the following:
OpenCPN is started, GPS is on, 10 satellites are displayed.
I go to the options of OpenCPN -> Plugins -> Dashboard (1.2) Preferences
as soon as I leave the dashboard, OpenCPN has no GPS signal!!? Reproducible
I can't get rid of the suspicion, something was programmed dead here?!
I still found an old memory card and use an older version with the same
hardware:
(without MCS (software), without avNAV )
Openplotter settings version 2.9.1,
Kernel and Moitessier driver 4.19.118,
OpenCPN 5.0.0
This system is running fine!
I will now make a copy and upgrade the system,
let's see what the new kernel, the new openCPN and the new moitessier driver make of it ...
