Furuno AP wiring

I find a lot of information on how to setup the autopilot, but I don't actually find any information on how to get the wiring out of the OpenCPN computer to the AP. Anything I am missing? Thanks.

Re: Furuno AP wiring

Does the furuno pilot have a nmea 183 Input. Or is it nmea 2000 only?

It is 183. I know how to wire the AP, need to know how to get the output from the Pi to send to the AP. Thanks.

Re: Furuno AP wiring

you need a serial output from the computer. either direct serial port (better) or buy a USB to serial adapter. and make a serial cable from computer to pilot nmea port. you'll want data going both ways to get heading to PC as well.
