Flatpak install crashes on startup

Debian 12 fresh install.

As soon as I add the base map, OpenCPN shuts down immediately on startup. The chart shows for a couple seconds then it shuts down. No error on the CL if we start from terminal.

Also can’t figure out how to install it outside of a flatpak.

In case anyone else faces this. I gave up on the flatpak install as it seemed to cleave an issue with graphics acceleration in Wayland.

Getting the Ubuntu PPA to add to the Debian repository required an install of python3-launchpadlib.

Then for Debian 12, I had to specify Ubuntu jammy main.

It all seems to be working now.
