Charging for Plugins

I have an idea for a great nautical piece of software, I am considering writing it as standalone software but it could also work as a plugin for OpenCPN. However its quite involved and I would like to be compensated for my time.



Am I able to charge a fee for a plugin? or at a minimum keep it free but put in some nagware for a donation?

... and as such, you may:


1. Publicly release any adaptation or improvement of OCPN, or any of its parts, or any new plugins, as long as you follow the terms of the GPL2 license under which OCPN is licensed.

2. Charge anything you like for your adaptation, plugins, or other improvements.
