B&G route and waypoint data

Good morning! I have OpenCPN, SignalK, and our B&G system all on the same network.

Is there a way for OpenCPN to add routes or waypoints that we activate on the B&G Zeus?

You can export waypoints & routes from OpenCPN using the GPX format.

And instead of having to transfer the GPX file via a SD card, because your B&G MFD and PC are connected on the same network, you can use FTP to export the file from the PC to the B&G MFD. The operation is kind of the reverse of what is describeded in the following post

BTW, a feature of the B&G MFD's is the ability to send and receive waypoints via the NMEA 2000 network. The last release of the TwoCan plugin enabled waypoints created on the B&G MFD to be added to OpenCPN. Either the next release of the TwoCan plugin, or perhaps something else (I'm a bit conflicted as to how to release that feature), will allow export of waypoints directly from OpenCPN into the B&G MFD via the NMEA 2000 network. Unfortunately B&G do not support import & export of routes via NMEA 2000.
