Automatic Language Change from AIS??

Is there any facility in OpenCPN to AUTOMATICALLY change the language?

A guy on the Facebook Group OpenCPN Users posted this:

Question – Is it possible to receive a virus from an AIS target?
Recently, on a two week passage from NZ to Fiji only one target was seen. It was a Chinese flagged ship passing 26nm away heading for NZ. On clicking on their ship icon to bring up their data box, my OpenCPN immediately changed from English to Chinese. I have found no way to switch back into English other than reinstall OpenCPN 5.6.2 on my Asus core i5 Win 11 laptop.

See attached screen shots. I HAVE asked if his whole computer switched languages, or just OpenCPN (I don't think the whole computer switched because he only talks about re-installing OpenCPN).

Do you know if the language change ever happened on v5.6.2? During development of v5.6... the inbound table with languages was not in a correct format and could cause similar effects. Could it be the user in question had such a OCPN version?

Yes, definitely 5.6.2. So this was a know problem in that version? And has been corrected in 5.8.2??

New problem to me, never seen before.
You should be able to change OpenCPN back to English by
Settings->UserInterface->Language.

Look at screenshots with your expected language and then pick the same position in the list to choose your needed setting
