There are two Android versions.

There is the free / Open source one that I use, but it is quite old and very poorly supported.

And then there is the proprietary paid for one. But I don't use it.

"paid" (~$10, one time) one is the only onr thst is updated, including plugins.

Some clarity. OpenCPN is open source. The free version was published many years ago by some random person that compiled if from the source code, and uploaded it to google play. It is an old version, buggy, and not supported. The paid version is maintained by some of the same people that wrote the program and continue to update and maintain it. If you use OpenCPN on a PC or laptop, the paid version is almost just like it.

The difference between paid and free is not trivial. The paid version is 1000x better. I'm surprised anyone would use the free version, as it is really awful in comparsion.
