Bali Catana

We recently purchased a Bali Catana with some defects and have been unsuccessful in getting Dream Yacht Charters to do the Warranty work properly or at all.

Does anyone have a recommendation or suggestion of who to contact.

Thanks

From my reading (not actual experience) . When buying an xcharter boat, get everything you have included in the deal done before accepting the boat. And check check check everything that was done by them.

Re: Bali Catana

Quality issues is not related just to Bali or second hand boats. Even for new boats, the manufacturers are extremely reluctant in honoring the warranty requests.

I bought a second hand cat from DYC 3 years ago. The boat was in terrible shape after only 3-4 years of charter. I knew that, I negotiated the price accordingly and as I have my team to take care of these issues, we fixed them at reasonable costs.

Back to yr case; did you know these issues beforehand and did you make an agreement with DYC that they should fix them ?
If not, there is nothing you can do. If yes but they don't want to do the work that they've agreed to do, then you can of course sue them. The trouble is that I am pretty sure that they are prepared to that with a number of lawyers at their disposol. And if the country of jurisdication is France, you may forget it, it would be money down the drain.
The last option is to find someone or some entity who could have a certain leverage on DYC.

Cheers

Re: Bali Catana

Dream Yacht Charters is in financial trouble (read it here on CF, so it might only be a rumor). If true, then you're stuck out of luck. You'll have to find someone to fix the boat, and then get in line with the other people who want $$ out of them. If you were to try to sell it as is, where is, you'll lose an awful lot.

Sorry to be the bearer of ill tidings.

I to have to same issues.
New Bali 5.4 Hull 44

I have had a bit of success in getting warranty work taken care of and having my own vendors performing the work. Feel free to reach out.

Currently in Annapolis.
