Wiring a Male Serial Plug

After a couple of rainy days spent in the circle of pointless frustration reserved for Windows users I've finally got some NMEA coming out of my Tacktick system and going into my nav laptop and GX2100 vhf.

Currently the 2 male serial ports have the NMEA wires roughly bodged in place - just to test the setup. I obviously need a more robust connection though, so does anybody know how to do this? I could solder the wires to the pins but that seems a bit too permanent...
