Raymarine RAY54E & TOPGNSS RS232 GPS

Hola Sailors,
I'm trying to connect my RayMarine Ray54E with a TOPGNSS RS232 gps antenna. I have different cables and my locig would suggest:
green with green
yellow with yellow
red 12v
black ground
black small ground

but, apparently it's not the cas as when I turn on the radio it says that there's no GPS signal.
Do you have any suggestion or experience with this GPS and this radio?
Thanks in advance!

Re: Raymarine RAY54E & TOPGNSS RS232 GPS

The Ray 54E needs the following connections: red +12V, black -12V, yellow +NMEA, green -NMEA. We do not know if the GPS antenna uses the same color codes. I would try:

1) yellow to yellow, green to green. You say it does not work
2) yellow to green, green to yellow... obvious test
3) connect the Ray 54E green to Ray 54E black (it is ok to do that) and then try touching and holding for a few seconds each of the GPS wires (yellow, green) to the Ray 54E yellow.
4) Try connecting the GPS thin black wire to ground and repeat 3 above
5) Confirm that your GPS is 4800 bps, I see on the website that some a 9600 bps. That would be an unsurmountable problem.

Good luck.
