Problem connecting STandard Horizon GX2000 and AIS

I have installed a new VHF radio Standard Horizon GX2000 and want to connect it to my AIS GME AIST120 via NMEA1087. But no data appear on the GX2000. The Baud is configured to 38.400 Baud.

Wire diagram:
GX2000 <----------- AIST120
Yellow (RX+) <-----Brown (TX+)
White (RX-) <------ Blue (TX-)

The proAIS2 diagnostic show that the right information is transmitted. The AIS is also connected to my Plotter but via NMEA2000, this works fine.

If I connect a voltmeter to the Yellow and White it fluctuate between 0 and 2,2 Volt. I take this as some thing is transmitted.

Please suggest possible solutions

you've set both the radio input and the AIS output to 38,400?

It may be that the Standard Horizon simply doesn't recognise the low signal voltage from the GME AIS. The GME AIS NMEA output signal is less than 3V so what you measured with a multimeter is about what you'd expect to see.

My suggestion is to call Standard Horizon and ask their technical support people. They are very good in my experience.

I did. And the problem was that the GME AIS do not use a new configuration before it has been really powered down. It is no enough just to reset it has to been turned off for 20-30 sek.

I believe that the problem is that you have not completed the circuit.

Mr Electron needs a way home.

TX- and TX+ are inverted versions of each other, not live and ground. You need to connect ground on the radio to ground on the plotter, either by connecting the cable sheaths, or ground wires, together.
