Re: Does Your Auto Pilot Have a Name?

The kids named ours Pablo. I added Boracho (means drunk in Spanish) so he was Pablo Boracho as we weaved our way around the Mexican coast He broke down so often that we bought a new one a WH autopilot. Rock solid unit but still doesn't have a name.

Thanks for responses..... RUFUS is a classic!

I wanted to post this followup. it reinforces the name for my mutinous autopilot.

So boat pix.com took some photos of the boat and has been trying to sell them to me. The proofs arrived today and GUESS WHO is at the helm of all the photos??? Look carefully and you will notice it is Mr Christian!! With no one around I must have gone below to fix some lunch.

Re: Does Your Auto Pilot Have a Name?

My soon to be purchased autopilot has already been named Britney Steers. Sure hope I don't have to change my music just to appease her.

'NO-ONE' is my reply when my grandkids ask 'Who is steering'?

I think the Pardeys called their wind vane "Helmer."

Way off topic, but you need to be introduced to this site:

Re: Does Your Auto Pilot Have a Name?

I've named mine " Dizzy" For obvious reasons if you saw the long " S " course it steers.

I've often wondered why my rum keeps disappearing...now I know! Dizzy drinks it!

But, Dizzy gets you there, despite taking the scenic route and he's never been pulled over.
