I would think that a reliable electronic installer repair man is VERY rare so... and that I'm not the only one in Miami having trouble finding one...

Are you looking for an independent guy to install electronics you already bought or are you going to buy from a dealer? When I had an autopilot installed on my boat, I bought it from Atlantic Radio Telephone (ART) on NW 25th Street in Miami. They did a great job on installing it. A few years later they put in a new flux gate compass for me. Langer Krell is a good outfit as well. I know a couple of independents but I don't know how good they are. I'm guessing you are talking about something more complicated than a VHF radio, depth sounder or single station GPS.

Thank you for the address.
But generally those dealers don't go for small job like NMEA connections , or installing an AIS, or perfecting a wiring.
I need someone to perfect the existing installation and also I have in planning some new equipments to complete the existing ones. Normally I'm trying to get the best price I can find by shopping around for the hardware . What I need is an independent doing professional quality installations and/or repairs.
I had someone but was not reliable: didn't come when appointment was taken, started jobs and not finishing, etc...

Re: A Good Reliable Electronic Installer in Miami?

take a look at the online magazine

The Triton | Nautical news for the marine industry, yachts, captains and crew.

Dockwalk - The Essential Site For Superyacht Captains And Superyacht Crew - Home

they have lots of ads for electronic installation,,, mostly they work on mega yachts, they know what they are doing,,,,some are independent,,,,

if they do not do small boats work then ask if they know someone that does
there are more than you can count int eh miami and fort lauderdale area,,most are listed on those 2 sites above

I'm a little late getting this to you but these might be the guys you're looking for: Home
They spoke at a club meeting last night. Some of the club members spoke well of them. I haven't used them yet but I'll probably try them next time I need electronics work.

Thumbs up Re: A Good Reliable Electronic Installer in Miami?

I know of one very good team of professionals that has a division that installs marine electroinics better than anyone I have seen in South Florida. They can be reached at jschfp@comcast.net or web site at www.jsc-florida.com ask for Jeff.
