Old Cruising Design Reefer Furlers

Dear Fellow Sailors:

I had an old CDI Reefer furler on my 32.5 foot sailboat. Ordered a new furler when there were no fixes or refit kits for my furler.

My slip neighbor is a Doctor and Mechanical Engineer. While waiting for my back ordered new furler, we came up with a fix/kit that makes the old furler better than new.

Feel free to contact me with questions.

Welcome to the forum. That furler has been obsolete for some time. The ones I worked on had a tenancy to jam. The newer furlers work much better.

Re: Old Cruising Design Reefer Furlers

Welcome to CF mhkent,
I retired my Cruising Design furler some years back. (Predecessor to CDI)
Was a continuous loop furler, not held in high regard by general sailing community, however never let me down in 30 plus years of service including in 35/g50 kts.
Complete working unit still in basement if would help/can use.
