If you stay on 101, in Astoria OR try: Rogue Ale Public House, Fort George Brewery + Pub, and (I haven't tried, but got good reviews on) Wet Dog Cafe & Brewery, and Buoy Beer.

I promise not to eat any dead California Condors, and if I do, I promise not to throw my poop anywhere any other animal can consume it.

Just watching out for everyone's interest...

But it is easier on my teeth than steel shot and anyone that shoots a bird and don't eat it should be flogged. IMO

It's not about shooting a bird and not eating it. And it's not just shot. It's any lead based ammunition including things like lead .22s and lead cored high velocity rounds.

Hunters field dress game and leave the entrails etc behind or they shoot vermin and leave them lying. That carrion is impregnated with minute lead fragments if shot with lead based ammo. The condors then consume the carrion and the lead is taken up into their system resulting in lead poisoning.

If I could only find some wealthy sponsors. Or maybe I should start a crowd-sourced funding drive. Think I could convince enough people to "fund me" so I could drink good beer all over the continent?

My wife has done the same with no expertise in the field, but frequent amateur testing:

I do understand that stu after all I am in the one country in the world that has more legal guns per capita that anywhere else on the planet
I was also raised to only shoot if I plan on eating it. And for larger game I use a bow not a rifle. Rabbits or squirells are taken with pellet guns and guts if left in the field are buried. Not left on the surface. Called responsible hunting.and wilderness stewardship

Blue Crab,
I feel honored to get a response of a real CF personality
they often seem by invite only.
But a bit butt sniffing should not hurt
as long as it doesn't go to deep (Jes sayin')

Thanks BC and fair winds

Your wife is welcome to be an honoury CF member anytime!

I got a little concerned that I knew most of the beers she kindly photographed in her quest for accuracy. I was even more worried that I could recall the taste of some........

A small world.
