Cost to ship boat from FL to Belize?

Need to get a Grady White 30ft boat and trailer from Florida to Belize (Ambergris Caye) and not sure where to start. Any recommendations for Florida based companies would be appreciated. Thanks...

We shipped a 30' whaler 10' beam to Anguilla 6 years ago. Cost 12k then. Needed to be on trailer. Shipping co out of Jacksonville. Boat sustained minor damage on each corner so take pics before she goes for ins disputes. Im sure there are other companies..

Will it fit in a container? If so ship it freight cost about$2500 US almost anywhere

Don't think that will go. Standard shipping containers are under 8' wide. Beam on the Grady over 10'. Maybe if you tilt it sideways.

The tallest container is 8' 5" thru the door, still wouldn't work. STANDARD SIZE SHIPPING CONTAINERS

Its not an impossible delivery on her own bottom. You'd have to factor in fuel costs, engine hours, wear and tear etc but a mileage quote for the trip of approx 678nm should beat shipping costs.

The route has enough re-fuelling stops, including Cuba if you like!

Every time I'm anchored in Lake Worth I see small freighters loading boats as deck cargo, headed for the islands. Call a shipping agent in West Palm Beach and they will be able to give you the details.

Check deck cargo rates to Puerto Morelos Mexico, along with Belize City. Then check the fuel burn vs the miles from Key west to Isla Mujeres. I know of a lot of boat that come on their own bottoms to save money.


edit......sorry, forget the own bottom thing. I forgot you said a trailer too.
