I have a issue with my ST2000,keeps flashing "2000" on the screen and beeping.

I have contacted raymarine and they just told me I need to send it to them for repairs, but first I need to email another department of raymarine to get a returns number, other wise they will not accept the unit if i post it to them.

I have emailed the other department for the returns number and surprise surprise no reply.............. Im not too happy with their customer support either

Re: Thumbs Down to Raymarine Support for ST6002 Wheel Drive

Hi everyone,
I also am attempting to fix an ST6002. It has a serious grinding noise when engaged. How do you disassemble the wheel portion to see the belt and / or any gearing?

Re: Thumbs Down to Raymarine Support for ST6002 Wheel Drive

The original post was ten months ago and since then Raymarine has been acquired by Flir. We are all hoping that the product and service will greatly improve but only time will tell. As to motion30's replacement, I would suspect that it is a factory recondition. Not saying anything is wrong with that but this is what Raymarine will usually send in these situations. As a long time certified Raymarine tech, I would never recommend them in the past. I am hopeful that things will improve. Chuck

disconnect the wiring for the drive motor remove the wheel from the pedestral, loosed the clutch and adjustment and the assmble will pull apart

before doing I would start by just flushing the whole assembly

DJBlizzard, you might want to start a new thread under maintenance asking for info on your disassembly question.

Re: Thumbs Down to Raymarine Support for ST6002 Wheel Drive

I have to say that my experiences with Raymarine support have been good. I have called them up for two problems, one with the chartplotter and again with auto pilot problems the chartplotter problem was solved quickly but the autopilot took a couple of really long phone calls while they guided me through the troubleshooting drill. The problem was found, and solved with a new rudder indicator.
my Raymarine system is a 2003 version.
Maybe it is the luck of the draw but the techs that helped me were very good.

The fact that you needed them with those problems is bad enough. I'm ripping out all that RM stuff and it feels very good

ciao!
Nick.

And I have had sterling service from them. No major problems - couple of minor things fixed without hassle.
