Butane is denser than propane and is often mixed with propane in warmer climes.
Perhaps you mean natural gas which is primarily methane.
The downside to natural gas is propane and butane compressed turn into liquid at around 100-150 psi whereas natural gas remains a gas, so you have less and is compressed to around 2000 psi.
