Maxsea 10 and usb gps issue

Howdy all,

Anyone help maybe?
Very new to gps but i'm running maxsea 10 on my laptop and trying to get a bu-305 usb gps antenna connected, the bu only runs on 38400 baud and the maxsea doesn't seem to pick it up, i have no Lat or long in the nav bar when connected, although when check under data in out settings click my com port and check data .....data does seem to be flowing, antenna works fine on 38400 on gpsinfo...

Any help would be a godsend.

as far as i know you will have to change it to 4800 baud with the GPSInfo program.

Thanks anyway, i already tried, ebay dude says it will only run at 38400 baud, if i try and run it through gpsinfo at 4800.. run a com port scan i get a (no gps reciever) on com5 which is where it is....i put baud a 38400 and sure enough i get gps reciever on com5....

This happens even after switching port setting in device manager to 4800

so what happened when you set the baud rate in maxsea on 38400? press <F4> on your keyboard if you have version 10.1.3.2

f4 brings up utilities, it's very strange i've added the correct com port in utilities-data input/output setting, when i veiw check data there is activity but under data display where it should show me lat and long and so on all i'm getting is -

issue resolved by switching pos sog and cog sentences from gll vtg vtg respectively...all to rmc...then hey presto.....

I was having problems with Maxsea interfacing with my GPS. I sent an email to Rob at: rob1@cruisingservices.net and he had me set right in a few minutes. This guy was a cruising sailor and now is in IT.
