Display your boat on SpotWalla using callsign and APRS

Some of you probably know this already but to those who do´nt, you can display your boat´s track and many other features using on-line SpotWalla and APRS as a device.

You can also include fotos and other html:// available information in any waypoint, as well as link to a comprehensive photo album of your trip, all on-line without the need to download anything. Click on ´Associated URL´ in the left column.

You can of course also download your tracks in .gpx - .klm and .CVS format for use with your favorite nav. prog.

Here is a link to my son´s boat, presently laid up for the winter in Norway:

Here is a link which explains a bit more about APRS for your SSB radio:

Re: Display your boat on SpotWalla using callsign and APRS

There are presently some polling problems with openaprs.net so in the meantime please use this URL for my son´s winter quarters in Norway.

In the spring, you will be able to follow his boat s.y. Ocean Viking on SpotWalla.
Google Maps APRS

Downloaded an interesting APRSdroid app the other day, mainly aimed at the radio ham with his own callsign but also quite useful to others, wishing to follow APRS enabled boats and vehicles, even via AIS,by just entering the callsign. Optional links also to aprs.fi and QRZ.com for detailed station information.
