thank you for that but you could already download "Bowditch" from here for quite long time.

National Geospatial provides Bowdich but they do not make it easy to download and frankly have an ugly website.

Their SSL certificate is suspect (according to Firefox) or not secure.

"The owner of msi.nga.mil has configured their website improperly. To protect your information from being stolen, Firefox has not connected to this website."

Most people don't want to spend a long time downloading each portion. Yes, it can be downloaded in its entirety but many don't need the complete work and would like to quickly view and select the available chapters.
