Logs attached.
At least in the logs there are only errors from the start up phase. They can occur from time to time.
Did you reload the browser window after restarting the Pi?
Sometimes the display lib (OpenLayers) caches some invalid tiles...

Re: AvNav - navigation in the browser

Well, I started the browser, do not recall if I pressed the arrowcircle-button.

But now I have and no change, still holes and errors.

What I did after 16.6 is that I reverted the Finland-set to september version.
Prefill ended with one error, the hole in the chart was still there but had shifted more to the north.
Also I spotted a message "Failed to fetch: type error" (or something like that, it was only a brief time on the screen).

I have now the september version installed and prefilled.

In the attachment (Screenshot...07.png) there is an error concerning chart file OC-358-NBOB92.oesu, is that really normal ??

Re: AvNav - navigation in the browser

Could you try to remove the chart info cache by the following steps:
(1) Stop AvNav (sudo systemctl stop avnav)
(2) rm /home/pi/avnav/data/ocharts/chartinfocache.conf
(3) Start AvNav (sudo systemctl start avnav)
This should hopefully remove the error we saw.
Start up will take some time afterwards as it will reparse all charts.

I just building a new daily that could (maybe) also help to address the issue...

Re: AvNav - navigation in the browser

Did as you instructed(steps 1-3).
Checked that chartinfocache.conf had been deleted.

Started AvNav in the browser, there was no delay in starting.
OchartsProvider showed no more "OpenErrors".

The hole in the chart though still exists as do the errors in the provider.log.

Re: AvNav - navigation in the browser

Installed the 20230630-version.
Repeated the steps 1-3.
Started AvNav in the browser.

This time loading of the charts (Poland,Estonia,Finland) took clearly longer time.

No change in the chart behaviour: the hole exists and the errors in provider.log.

Re: AvNav - navigation in the browser

Ok, look much better now.
Could you do some modification in the settings? This will invalidate all the chart caches so that we get "fresh" renders for all tiles - just to be sure...
And please provide a screen shot of your main settings for o-charts.

Re: AvNav - navigation in the browser

Really strange.
I made some tests with an older version of the chart set.
And no problems....
And the charts that are necessary for this range seem to all load fine.
So maybe we need some more logs.
Could you please set the log level to 2(debug) in the plugin settings?
And change the prefill zoom to 1 to avoid the log being filled by the prefiller.
Afterwards please again change some settings ( typically I use one of the depth settings) to trigger cache invalidation.
You maybe would need to collect some more logs as there is a size limit and when reached a new log is opened - just check the names for times.

Re: AvNav - navigation in the browser

Changed the plugin settings.

Changed the "safety depth" 6 ->5 meters, preFill did not start.
Changed it further 5 ->4 meters, preFill does not start.

Previously preFill started when I changed the "safety depth" 4 ->6 meters.
And yes, I pressed "OK" and the "Update settings".

About the ochart versions: my june-2022 set worked OK, at least I did not notice anything.
I noticed the error in june-2023 version, and also in the september-2022 version after I reverted to that (and that version is in use now).

Re: AvNav - navigation in the browser

Yes, with prefillzoom=1 the prefill will not do much.
Anyway the caches are invalidated and when you navigate now to the area with the hole (and the relevant zoom level) we should see a lot of information about the rendering process in the log - exactly what I need.

Maybe I will ask the o-charts team for a test license so that I can use the same chart set and version.
Could you try how things are looking at OpenCPN?
Would be interesting to see which charts OpenCPN uses at that area in the relevant resolution (you can easily show them with the green buttons at the bottom).
I guess the "interesting" charts are OC-358-NBOS92 (ok), OC-358-SBOB92(nok). Something seems to go wrong in the tiles where those 2 overlap.

Will be out now for one week starting tomorrow - so no real chances to make a lot of analysis.
But still the provider logs would be really interesting.

Found some provider.logs though, but they are way too big to be transmitted via this forum...
