Stingray Anchors

Have a look at this website showing stingray anchors - in particular, have a look at the Youtube video lower down. Also takes minimal space. Looks impressive! Or am I missing something? What are your thoughts?

Re: Stingray Anchors

My only question is "If the anchor is burried under 1/2 meter or more of soil, how do you get it back up?" That is alot of weight to lift it out, unless you pull it out backwards.

Ditto. As well, I'd like to see side-pulls & reverse-pulls performed, to see if the shanks disengage and/or distort and/or tear. But, my main concern would be raising anchor after a few days/week and also in extreme conditions. Still, always good to see "new" stuff.

Re: Stingray Anchors

Personally it doesn't look like cruising anchor to me. Looks hard to stow and until proven, I would be very suspect about the side pull aspects.

Re: Stingray Anchors

Of course I am sceptical but it looks as though in bigger sizes that it would stow well, assemble easily and be good for straight line pull - like the Fortress indeed. Pretty useful for some limited purposes. The trial would be better reworked with the modern type anchors but looks interesting.
