Simpson Lawrence Seatiger 555 Gipsy Information

I wanted to post some information regarding this Windlass that I learned to help others in similar situations. I have this windlass and really like it but ran into a problem when upgrading to 3/8" G4 chain.

I have Gipsy RCB70 on it and in the original owners manual, it states that 3/8" hi test will fit. IT DOES NOT fit. After talking with John at slspares.co.uk (who is awesome and has lots of spare parts for this windlass), he informed me that due to the change in chain specifications after this gipsy was manufactured, the new hi test G4 chain in 3/8" does not fit.

After some discussion, he told me the RCB60 Gipsy will fit the current G4 3/8" chain and he had one in stock, which I purchased.

Summary : RCB70 will fit 5/16" G4 High Test but not 3/8" and RCB60 will fit 3/8" G4 and if you need parts, contact John at slspares.co.uk

I looked all over for this information but had a lot of trouble finding it, so I figured i'd post it here.
