Trouble with turnbuckles

In the early process of replacing static rigging.
I look at the STA-LOK catalog and find a nice, 3/4” turnbuckle system, from eye to eye.
The closest Hayn parts wont fit quite right. Slightly long on the min dimension.

So, the issue is that a US distributer indicates sta-lok turnbuckles are not imported[emoji51]

Any other options out there for a 3/4”/18mm system? Do i need to sail to the UK to get rigging[emoji15]

While on the subject, there are variations that do not use t-bolts, but rather another swivel pin.Better?

Re: Trouble with turnbuckles

My first rigger, when I didn’t know how to spell that, told me that t-bolt strap toggles were the work of the devil. Well, not quite, but close. Since then, I’ve always used a turnbuckle with a fork on the bottom along with a forged or machined toggle.

Since then I’ve seen three T-bolts fail, and several straps corrode from the inside out and fail.

Re: Trouble with turnbuckles

You can buy Sta-lok studs and then use a Hayn body…

Trouble with turnbuckles

So i put on the new turnbuckles today. Removing the first of two seized turnbuckles is fairly exciting, since i couldnt easily relieve tension from the other side.
This is just a 3 stay boat.
Ok. Now about tuning. Never tuned a sailboat, so im in unknown territory. But, are sailcats a bit soft, in that the gunnels are not directly connected to the mast base? At least compared to monohulls?
Another question. What are the mast stiffening wires called; these do not go to the deck. In other applications, they are called strut guys.
These are very tight; very little hand deflection is possible.
Do the shrouds tighten down to this level of tension?

TIA.

On my beach cat they're diamond wires.
