Selden boom outhaul car track

My outhaul car block broke and I don’t know if the plastic at the end of the track is supposed to look like the picture, or if it was damaged when the block broke. The pulley at end of the boom moves freely and the plastic at the end of the track keeps the car from sliding back too far. Any insight appreciated. Click image for larger version

It doesn’t look like it belongs there.

Re: Selden boom outhaul car track

Ours has a widget inside the boom which currently isn't used, but it means taking one or perhaps both ends off to fish it out. I have chosen to ignore the problem for now as we don't need two lifting halyards.

I removed the deformed plastic piece shown in the original photos , included as these 2 additional photos. Looks like a stopper in the track to cushion the outhaul car, but I can’t find it in any diagrams. Has anyone seen this part?
