Yea, this thread really got OT in a hurry. Thanks for your responses. I have checked out some of the links and probably will just paint some product on the lines.

It is not really that big a deal for me. At my age I tend to mostly day sail. Of course I string together a lot of day sails in a row along the West Coast of Florida, the Keys, and the Bahamas; and back. But I always wait for a beautiful weather window and never really put much stress on my running rigging; or my tired old body.
