Greetings.
I have a cruising Code-0 (w/integrated
dyneema anti-torsion line) using a 12mm dacron stock
halyard. When loaded up I get way too much stretch on the
halyard, so I need to replace this line with a no/low stretch halyard. I'm seeking
advice on the best type of replacement for my situation. I'm a casual cruiser --not a
racer, but I do enjoy performance sailing. So I don't need super high-tech, but do want to eliminate this stretch issue for my loaded upwind performance.
Questions:
1) What halyard might you recommend to eliminate the stretch?
2) Cost is a factor --I need +- 40 meters of line (131 feet), so cost/foot adds up very quickly. What lower-cost options might fit me well to accomplish my goal?
3) My
current 12mm halyard runs through a
clutch --If I reduced my line diameter due to a higher tech solution, say to a 9 or 10mm, would this be an issue for my
clutch?
4) Where is a good place to get this new halyard?
Thank you so much for your help answering my questions!
