Bed in jib sheet track

Hi I would like some advice on a good method of re-bedding my jib sheet tracks.
It's a wooden boat with plywood decks which are Dynel sheathed and have a laid teak deck over that.
There is an indication that I have leaking bolt holes since the timber (NZ Khauri) backing is showing furryness around the edges which usually means salt water has got into the timber.
The tracks were originally bedded with 3M 5200 I think.

I've already re-bolted and bedded the mainsheet traveller and used Butyl Mastic Tape. All of those bolts had crevice corrosion so they were replaced. There was no sign of leaking from them. Some had separated into three pieces and I don't know what was holding the traveller on.

I'm wondering whether to use Butyl Mastic Tape on the jib sheet track bolts too? Replace all the bolts and also the timber backing but thinking of using marine plywood for that. I'll soak the ply in Evadure to seal it first.

I would appreciate any suggestions.
Thanks

Butyl tape !!!!!! Only on the exterior! This is so you can detect a leak later on, before damage has been done!!!!!!!! Counter sink the bolt holes a little like in fiberglass, so when you push the bolts through the counter bore will force more tape to push against the bolts, creating a better seal.!!!! Good Luck!

Hi Mike
Thanks for your reply.
I'll do just that. I've had no problems where I've used it elsewhere.
Thanks
