Barient 28 winch - line stripper is jamming / snagging line

I have Barient 28 self-tailing winches and recently one of them started jamming the line in the line stripper, tearing up the cover of our genoa sheet. Unfortunately it appears the line clutch and line stripper are not adjustable in height (there are spring pins internally which have no screw for adjusting tension, unlike some of my smaller winches which are adjustable).

Any ideas how to fix this so the line stripper stops tearing up our line? I know it's possible the line is slightly oversized for this winch, but we've had this size for years without prior issue (and our port winch is working fine with the same size). I tried rotating the line stripper to a new position but that didn't help.

No ideas? Does Barient still exist / have a support contact? Maybe I could contact them...

Barient is dead, I would pull the stripper and sand the rough spots smooth, likely some chrome lifting and slicing your line
