Ok. I did call jabsco. Left a message
a gentleman named Paul called back. He said he was surprised as they've had very little trouble with the fLushlite head. then he went on to tell me that engineering was working on a bigger belt. Then he offered to send me a new Pump

Thanks for the daily chuckle.

In honesty though, I'm glad I saw this thread. We're replacing our new electric TERRIBLY noisy Jabsco with either their Quiet Flush or more likely the VacuFlush. I think the VacuFlush is going to win.

We did contact jabsco UK and we have a very positive response. The dilemma was "how do you change the bigger wheel that comes with the service kit??" Turned out you need specialist tool to pull the bearing. And an engineer who know how to do this. Jabsco offered us a solution and solved the problem for us.

Re: Jabsco lite flush

I've come in on this thread late, but here is my experience.

I've just finished a 3 month delivery of a cat equiped with 2 Jabsco Lites. These are rubbish. Below is an extract of the mail I sent to the owner, and before the moderators get hot under the collar, this has also been forwarded to Jabsco's european rep:

"Toilets: the first broke before St Helena, and the second just after. On a million euro boat we now **** in a bucket!

Both broke the toothed pulley on the motor which drives the macerater, and both after a pee - ie no solids. One also broke the drive belt.

I've seen cheap Chinese children's toys better constructed than these things, and if it was my boat I would be hunting the supplier with a definite idea just where I was going to put the toilet.
I don't know how, in good conscience, Jabsco can sell something which lasts less than a month when used in the real world. You get an idea of their honesty when you read their brochure under the heading "Features" I quote: " Virtually silent operation" Are they serious! A machine gun is quieter than their product. Bunch of lying thugs."

On repairing them one shredded the belt after a week. I've used Jabsco Quiet flush toilets extensively and never had a problem. I can't believe they are the same brand.

They are rubbish, do not touch them.

Re: Jabsco lite flush

Also late onto this thread but 9 months ago purchased a Lite Flush to replace a Jabsco Manual which came with my new Jeanneau 409. Experiences:

1. The Lite Flush is not compatible with an existing manual Jabsco if the pump is in the left hand position. In my case new holes and modified piping had to be done. This was not indicated in Jabsco sales material.

2. The Lite Flush is NOISY.

3. The Lite Flush is smelly. When flushing, the macerator is in your face. Whatever you have done is presented to you in a cloud of microparticles. Flush with lid down.

4. With the simplistic electronic control it is impossible to do a final flush with fresh water (Using the shower head). There is always a salt water smell.

5. The seat may be soft closing but is flimsy and cannot be tightened adequately without stripping the poorly made plastic thread.

6. Finally after perhaps being used around 100 times with GREAT care the macerator drive belt and toothed wheel snapped.

7. Replaced entire unit with a new Manual Jabsco. I couldn't in good conscience fix this and sell on ebay as this toilet is simply CRAP . The drive belt assembly is piss weak (no puns intended!) and not worth replacing as it will break again! I binned it.

Comment: This was an expensive and worthless exercise! How can Jabso sell the Lite Flush as a replacement for their reliable and well made Manual toilet range?

Re: Jabsco lite flush

To the OP, your problem is almost certainly the belt. I recently stripped my head to see what was wrong when I could hear the motor spinning but no discharge. It turns out that the flimsy rubber drive belt had snapped. It hadn't completely separated but it had broken enough to cause it to loosen from the teeth. It struck me that the belt is simply too flimsy. I found the same belt online but it is 9mm wide instead of 6mm...therefore 33% stronger? It fits on the cog with room to spare.
I've only had it fitted for a few weeks but it's working OK for now.

I bought it on eBay... Timing Belt GT3 -270- 3MGT- 9 - Gates from Top Industrieteille. $11.

Despite what a couple of posts say, it's not possible to replace the belt without taking the head apart. As you can see form this photo, the belt is at the very bottom of the head, under the plastic cover so you have to remove everything in order to get to it. These's nothing technical to it, it's just a PITA. Seeing as I had to remove the water pump to get to the belt, I decided to relocate it and have installed it under the floor. It uses all the same wiring, it just makes things easier if I ever have to service it or the head again.
