Install fitting in Vetus flexible holding tank

Advise needed...how do I install a 1 1/2" plastic elbow fitting in a bladder type
holding tank? I have carefully cut the hole but can not work the flange through the hole. To me, it is like cutting a hole the size of an orange then trying to force a grapefruit through it. I have been trying to work the fitting in with no lubricant and thus far have started to chafe the fabric. Not a good start. Should I lube around the hole with dish soap in hopes it will slip in? Once I get the fitting in should the perimeter of hole have any type of sealant applied before I screw down the sealing collar?

Greetings and welcome aboard the CF, spenweb.

You have elongate the hole, by stretching the fabric (to an oval shape).

Talking Re: Install fitting in Vetus flexible holding tank

I got it......after reading thr instructions for the forth time I realized
that I had used the inside diameter of the threaded nut. Once switching to the slip ring which is about 1/8" larger I enlarged the hole. Then lubed up the edge of the plastic elbow with dish soap and it slipped into place. Then erroring on the side of overkill, I put a bead of silicone sealant around the perimeter of the hole.
Put on the sealing washer and screwed on the nut till the silicone oozed out all around. Should be good to go tomorrow after the silicone is set up.
Cheers from Langkawi, Malaysia.
