So looking at his setup, that metal exhaust that comes out the bottom of that heater, how do you deal with that in a boat with out melting the side of the boat?

A gas/petrel heater is a burnt to the waterline solution.

Better not to buy too big a unit, thermostat running it low creates higher maintenance issues.

They like burning WOT, and yes kero helps.

There are also those that heat up hydronic calorifiers, tap into the engine coolant circuit, distribution under the sole or along the cupboards, very efficient with an insulated tank, but yes lots more complex
