Does food coloring stain fiberglass?

So I have a leak somewhere in my fresh water system. I have not been able to find it. My current thought is to add some food coloring to my tank to see where it leaks. Does anyone know if this will stain my fiberglass/bilge? Are there other products I should use instead?

Yes, it will probably stain. There are leak detection dyes for this purpose that will not. Some are only visible under UV light, others are bright colors.
