Re: Converting Older AB Cold Machine from air to keel cooling

At 3500 rpm 9 amps is excessive and generally indicates air blockage in condenser or some one has tampered with refrigerant. First check the air temperature interring condenser fan. Nine amps would indicate something more than engine room heat. And 3.5 amps is more inline at 2500 rpm.

When amperage is good at low compressor speed and much much higher amps at high rpm solution is always simple.

Richard,

Are you suggesting that the fan or heat-sink fins may need cleaning? Our fan housing is connected by rivets.
