Fixed to feathering

On a CD 25. Has fixed two blade. What's involved with changing to a three blade feathering prop?

Re: Fixed to feathering

You’ll need to know shaft size, engine HP, direction of rotation when in ahead, and aperture clearance.

Re: Fixed to feathering

To what sail monkey said, add maximum engine RPM and reverse gear reduction ratio in forward and reverse gear.

Or, just figure the old rule of thumb...."add a blade, deduct an inch of pitch"
That will give you a good place to start.

Re: Fixed to feathering

That boat will be a tight fit. Call a feathering propeller dealer.

Provide them the following information:

Vessel Water Line Length (LWL)
Vessel displacement (weight)
Engine HP
Max engine RPM at full throttle
Gear reduction ratio
Prop shaft diameter
Dimension from shaft center to top of aperture
Dimension from shaft center to bottom of aperture
Dimension from fwd face of current propeller hub, back to the leading edge of rudder
